Meeting once a month currently, working out a time of week, and length of time between one and a half to three hours. Starting with a church/assembly discussing specific concrete doctrines with families present, then (not part of the assembly, women can talk from this point on) a Hebrew study check-in, and a S.M.A.R.T. goals (specific, measured, achievable, relevant, timed) accountability check-in.

CandleHearth Cottage Fellowship

Lynchburg, Virginia, United States
Men and Women

A small intimate family friendly setting with a mix of like minded friends, we break bread, fellowship and focus on the authority of scripture as the axiom of Truth that does not exist in a man made vacuum. Critically thinking and unpacking as best we can, the intent of the Holy Spirit inspired Word drawing on multiple scriptural witnesses and using any respective tools in the pursuit of truth with Scripture as the Axiom and ultimate authority. “Come let us reason together.”

The Prophet Isaiah lists 4 ailments Jesus Christ took upon Himself on the cross for all mankind: Sickness (53:3-4,10), Disease (v3-4), Sin (v5-6, 8, 11-12), and Death (v8-9, 12). In love, God laid on His Son (John 3:16, Isa 9:6) the entire “Curse of the Law” (Deut 28:15-68) so that we would no longer bear the Curse ourselves (Gal 3:13-14)–This is the Good News known as the Gospel! “However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore, And our pains that He carried; Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted, Struck down by God, and humiliated. But He was pierced for our offenses, He was crushed for our wrongdoings; The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him, And by His wounds we are healed.” (Isaiah 53:4-5 NASB) We receive these precious promises of God by faith in Jesus (Rom 10:9-10, 4:20-22, Mark 11:22-24), and faith increases by hearing the Word of Christ (Rom 10:16-17, Luke 17:5). This is why the Church exists: to hear God’s Word, to grow strong in faith, and to serve Jesus together in love (Acts 2:42-47, 5:42) as we draw closer to the Resurrection!
